SKU of selected dimension: PEP-GSH-1500MG

Glutathione (γ-glutamylcysteinylglycine) is a naturally occurring tripeptide made up of three amino acids: glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine. Recognized as the most abundant intracellular antioxidant in mammalian cells, it plays a fundamental role in protecting cellular structures from oxidative damage. Glutathione functions as an essential cofactor for key antioxidant enzymes, including glutathione peroxidase and glutathione S-transferase, supporting the neutralization of reactive oxygen species (ROS), Phase II detoxification pathways, and overall redox balance within cells. In addition to its antioxidant activity, glutathione contributes significantly to immune regulation by supporting immune cell growth and function. It is also heavily involved in hepatic xenobiotic metabolism and detoxification processes. Research further indicates that glutathione can suppress tyrosinase activity, an enzyme involved in melanin production, which may explain the skin-brightening effects observed in several clinical investigations.
